One Minute Silence were a four-piece band that combined influences from metal, hardcore punk and rap (and, later, elements from stoner and progressive rock). The band consisted of vocalist Brian ‘Yap’ Barry, guitarist Massimo Fiocco, drummer Eddie Stratton and bassist Glen Diani. The band announced its split after eight years in a press release dated October 21, 2003. Yap went on to record with Pink Punk.
Although they claimed not to be a “political band” — they are simply “political people” who are also musicians, they say — the group’s lyrics have a political message which can be interpreted as generally anti-capitalist and anarchist.

Gorilla Biscuits is a New York straight edge hardcore punk band on Revelation Records. They formed in 1987. They picked the name under pressure to have a name when Token Entry got them a stage appearance unexpectedly. Ironically (due to their straight edge status), the name came from a big quaalude known as a “gorilla biscuit” which was popular in their neighborhood. The intent was to change the name later, but it stuck. However the name was used effectively in one of their early songs which is titled Biscuit Power with the lyrics “Gorilla Biscuits in your fucking head, one more time and you’ll be dead…”

Lamb of God is an American groove metal band, originally formed under the name Burn the Priest.
The roots of Lamb of God were planted in the year 1990, when Mark Morton, Chris Adler and John Campbell were bros at Virginia Commonwealth University. The trio began playing at Adler’s house in Richmond weathering chilly conditions. “There was no heat in the house,” recalls Campbell. “We would hang around the kerosene heaters, get really drunk and write metal songs. Fumes and Black Label beer were definitely what fueled our early days.”

Brujeria is a death metal/grindcore band hailing from Mexico. Their name comes from the Spanish language, meaning “Witchcraft”. Their extreme attitude involving permanent use of urban militia masks, an old custom of refusing to make live shows, and performing under pseudonyms to portray themselves as a Latino band of drug lords, have been part of their passport to success. Although they have recently performed live at locations across the United States and Latin America, at the very start of their career they were concealing their identities due to being supposedly wanted by the FBI.

Biohazard was one of the first bands to regularly incorporate elements of both hip-hop and hardcore metal into their sound; since their lyrical fare dealt with the harshness of urban life and the resulting anger and frustration, which both genres of music have been known to address, the connection only made sense, especially in light of Anthrax’s highly effective collaboration with Public Enemy on 1991’s “Bring the Noise. ” When Biohazard formed in 1988 in Brooklyn, NY, their sound was much closer to the former band than the latter; their original lineup consisted of guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei, bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld, guitarist Bobby Hambel, and drummer Danny Schuler. They began opening for local hardcore and thrash bands and gradually built a large following through their outraged sense of injustice, political awareness, and constant touring. A self-titled debut was released in 1990 on the Maze label, but by 1992, Biohazard’s fan base was strong enough to secure a deal with Roadrunner Records.
